Hg scheme 2

Notes

Used at: CERN

Lasers used: Dye, Ti:sapphire, Nd:YVO4

Notes: Tested in Day Goodacre et al. (2017), replacing AI from Podshivalov et al. (1999) with non-resonant 532nm It seems more likely though that the 2nd excited state used was 71333.053cm-1 (1D2)

Checked relative efficiency of both possible 2nd steps at ISOLDE in May 2023, essentially same ion current. 15960.41 x2 (leading to 71333.053cm-1) maybe 10% better.

Scheme
